Forgotten Garden is a collection of 15 works that compositionally explore the garden as a metaphor to life. Each piece speaks of the artists concept that by freeing up our lives from self-constraint and limitation, we become like an untended garden -- self-propagating, self-nurturing, and self-flourishing. Gehl's dreamy compositions are rendered with a highly polished surface, allowing for layers of encaustic wax to saturate her quiet, yet powerful palette of rich, earthy color.
